Flamenco Beach, Culebra
Often ranked among the best beaches in the world, and it earns it — powder-soft sand and water in about six shades of blue.
La Mina Falls
The classic El Yunque waterfall — a 0.7 mile trail through rainforest that ends in a cold, glorious swim.
Charco Azul, Juana Díaz
A deep, glassy natural pool fed by a small falls — locals bring speakers and a cooler and stay all afternoon.
Cueva Ventana, Arecibo
A "window cave" framing one of the best views on the island over the Río Grande de Arecibo valley.
Punta Higüero, Rincón
The best sunset on the west coast, hands down. Bring a blanket and get there thirty minutes early.
La Ruta del Lechón, Guavate
A mountain road lined with lechoneras roasting whole pigs over charcoal. Go hungry, leave happy.
Gozalandia Falls, San Sebastián
Two tiers of waterfalls you can jump from, plus a rope swing when the crowd is right.
Playa Crash Boat, Aguadilla
Calm, warm water, a photogenic pier, and food trucks parked right on the sand. Great for beginners and kids.
Mar Chiquita, Manatí
A near-enclosed cove where waves break over a rock wall and fill a calm natural pool. Dramatic and safe to swim.
